Portraits are one form of art I have been doing since I graduated from the Art Institute of Chicago and thru-out my whole career. While working at Reynolds Metals Co. I had the privilege of drawing a portrait of Debbie Reynolds for a tribute to her for all the work she had done for the Thalians. a support group for retired actors. My portrait of Olivia Newton-John was used for the album cover after meeting her at the Greek Theater and presenting it to her.

 

I also was commissioned to draw 10 animal drawings for Cardinal Pets line of pet care products, two of which are seen below.

 

My portraits are focused on detail to capture the personality of the subject, whether a loved one or a favorite pet, I try to create a memorable image that can be cherished for anyone involved. I like drawing most of the portraits in black and white charcoal, with the us of color on most of the pets depending on their coloration. The 3 bottom framed pets, show how a frame cam be used to add a name or enhance the image, making it more personable.
